Gordon Horgan has provided a copy of Sporting Holidays from 1937 for your viewing and I found a copy of the 1914 WI State Shoot the names and scores start on the bottom of the 2d column. The link is below.

Well here we go.

Well the grand opening is in the morning.  The shooting starts right after that.  The Homegrounds look very impressive.  The campers are rolling in, classification, squadding and cashiering has begun.  Are we ready?  We'll see.  Here are a couple of pictures I took Sunday afternoon.
Looking west.  A few of the campers to the left.

A impressive site.

Still need a place to stay at the State shoot?

I have been contacted by a friend of the WTA that has a house on the 18th hole of the Arrowhead Lakes course Just a few miles from the homegrounds. She has a room for a single or couple. Private bath.  Kitchen privileges, a garage if you like, pool passes to the private pool in the area.  It is a four bedroom.  It also includes breakfast.  The owner will be present and help with any needs that may arise.  The cost is only $80 per night.  She would like someone for at least 4 nights.
If interested please call 1 920 205 9932.
This can work out nice.  I have rented for several years in Sparta Il.  After renting in a home I found that it is way better than a hotel. After a couple years it seems like you are part of the family. Plus the price is better too.  You can't beat $80 a night plus it includes breakfast.
