Trap Houses

Dennis Taylor and I have been down to visit Jeff Welch at Welch Bros. concrete a couple times in the last two weeks.  They are making our trap houses.  Here are some pictures of how they look before they are in the ground and before they are completed.  The first picture is the bucket of concrete coming over, the next two are the bases being poured, then there is the inside and outside of the form just after they put in the concrete, next is Dennis and Jeff gabbing about something next to a finished house, and finally we have the finished product.

WEB Site Update

The web site is going through some updates by different people and it has caused the main page not to be displayed properly. I am trying to get that corrected. The current version of the web site is HTML with CSS.
The current HTML/CSS is hard to edit unless you have all the original source files. Thats why the home page is in font error. I tried to edit something and screwed it up. I am working on fixing the problem.

This same problem may happen again as the web site is transfered from a single editor(web master) to multiple web masters. That's the problem with HTML/CSS, everyone needs the original source documents to properly edit any HTML/CSS web page.

If everything goes as planned the new published web page should happen better then the main page.

A bunch of information

Well it has been awhile.  But things are a little slow in Rome due to this thing called winter.  I am going to just  post some random things about the BOD meeting last Sat.  The minutes should be published soon.

First the Sec Tres. position.  As some of you may already know Sarah and Jay have resigned.  Boy young people.  Just kidding.  With the addition of their daughter, Sarah's full time job, Jay's full time job and his new business really taking off they found that it was just way to much for them to handle at this time.  I for one can understand.  Jay said now he may be able to beat me at doubles again.  Well I don't have any jobs so just think how good I'm going to be.  In the mean time Arlene Otto has graciously agreed to take back the position temporarily.  We have also taken part of the Sec. job and made a new position called Reg. shoot coordinator.  That is going to be my wife Melinda.  She will be the one people holding Reg. shoots will be dealing with for the reports, sending the money too, and in general the paper work involved with holding a shoot.  Melinda and Arlene's contact information will be posted on this site soon.

Next the Hall of Fame.  This year there were four nominee's for the HOF.  The way this works is the paper work for each nominee is sent to the currant living HOF members to vote on.  In order to be accepted you must get at least 2/3 yes votes from the HOF that send back their forms.  So this year 3 of the four nominee's received the needed 2/3 vote.  Due to the rules stating that only 2 people per year can be inducted  into the HOF the two nominee's with the highest percentage of yes votes will be inducted this year and the third will be inducted next year.  I am honored to announce the two inductee's for this year.  Dennis Taylor and Fritz Thistle.  Both very well deserved.  Both true gentleman and sportsman and true ambassadors to the sport of trapshooting.  They will be inducted at this years banquet at the Arrowhead lodge in Rome near the new home grounds. The date is July 20,2013  Congratulations to both men.
The next person to receive the required 2/3 yes votes is very close to me.  He has spent many years working for clubs in the area, with the WTA and has had a average shooting record.  I know him well.  It is Don Mittag.  He will be inducted at the banquet to be held during the State shoot in 2014 but because he has been voted on already will not have to go through the selection process again.  So congratulations Don.  It is well deserved I think.
