Condo's for rent at the State shoot

Lodges of the lakes condo's on the Arrowhead Lakes golf course still has a couple of units left during the state shoot.  He has a 3 and a 4 bedroom available.  I am not sure of the price but you can get more information from Fred lodgesofthelakes@comcast.net.  I have one rented.  We could be neighbors.  I am paying about the same thing as a hotel.  But these are much better that a hotel room.  Full kitchens, multiple bathrooms depending on how many bedrooms.  Nice living rooms with big screen TVs. Enough room to stretch out.  Get a few friend together and rent one.  They are about 5 minutes from the grounds.

Great news and some not so great news

First the GREAT.  Thistle Fritz just told me that Tim Curtin was working on the roof of the shower house.  This great because as soon as the shower house is complete and inspected we can open the campgrounds.  The other part of the GREAT news is that Tim's wife's is doing well from what I understand.

The not so great news.  Over the weekend there were 3 directors and 1 non-director there for the work weekend.  Boy that sure says alot about the other 1400 or so members.  Remember this is your club and RV center.  Dennis Taylor and YOUR WTA needs your help.  There is a lot to do before the State shoot.  If you can spare some time give Denny a call at 715 310 0380.  That way in case he isn't there he can give you a idea of what needs to be done the most.  Again we really need your help.  Last year we had thirty some people at the work weekend.  Just because we made it through the State shoot last year doesn't mean there isn't anything else that needs to be done.  So please help out again this year.  Every weekend is a work weekend from now till the end of the State shoot.

New zone directors

Now that the zone shoots are over the dust has cleared and the Directors that will be working hard for YOU in your zones are.  In the SE Gary Fechter was unopposed and will be your director.  In the SW your new director is Jerry Farnsworth.  In the NW Pres. Bruce Stiteley will be working hard for the shooters in the wonderful state of Wisconsin.  And in the NE zone Vice Pres. Bill Simonar will be representing you again for the next two years.

Just for you information the terms of each director is two years.  Each year one director from each zone is elected.  That way only one director of the two in each zone is voted on.  The terms end on the last day of each State shoot.

Also it is not too early to start thinking about next year.  In the SE Zone someone will need to step up and run for director.  The director up for election next year will not be running for another term.  So everyone start talking and if you think you know someone that would make a good director talk to them and see if they would like to give it a try.  If you or anyone has a question on the position just give me a call.

Just a reminder

Just a reminder we have a work weekend scheduled for this coming weekend the 14th and 15th of June.  We really need workers.  If you can make it and can bring any of the following please do so.  Four wheeler, utility trailer, rakes, shovels, chain saws, tree trimmers and lots of energy.  So if you have a desire to do something for your organization now is the time to step up and help.  Even if you can only make it one day that would be wonderful.  So please help out.

Homegrounds work.

Fritz Thistle just called from the home grounds to update me a bit on what is going on up there.
There were a few good men up there working getting the signage up in the campgrounds, putting the fire rings out, putting some of the picnic tables together.  The area from the trap houses south to the vendor sites has been seeded and most of it is starting to come up.  The shot drop area is being finish and should be seeded anytime now thanks to Glenn Carlson.  Now we need the cooperation of mother nature.
There is still a lot of work to be done.  So remember we are having a work weekend on the 14th and 15th of June.  So please come on up and bring a friend.  Bring any kind of gardening tools you may have.  Hand tools.  Tree trimming tools and a desire to help out YOUR organization.  If you have a four wheeler and a trailer for hauling limbs and such that would be a big help too.
If you have time through the week and would like to help give Denny a call first and he will give you a idea of what needs to be done.  He will most likely be there on the grounds but just in case he is out running errands.  His number is 715 310 0380.
